he’s right. they don’t even need to ban using open source models if they strangle Hugging Face with heavy regulations.
and this could happen in 2026 considering open-source bas reached Opus level intelligence.
Users welcome the new tool for mirroring and verifying local Hugging Face models because the developer shows openness to community bug reports, feature requests, and PRs to improve resilience.
