@kimmonismus The real move is recasting a coding tool as a productivity app for everyone. That is a positioning bet, not just a merge. I build with agents daily and the gap between dev-grade and anyone-can-use is huge - mostly trust and recovering from mistakes. Will normies actually stay?

Ive used cursor with multi agents, then went all in on claude cowork and claude code in terminal. the codex app already feels like how id want to work with AI already.

Cant wait to see what they deliver in their "superapp"

Only thing that could overthrow them is xAI + Cursor. Never count Elon out.

Codex into ChatGPT collapses two surfaces into one consumer entry, with Atlas next on the consolidation list. The 6 new business plugins (sales, data, equity, IB) point to the agent picking the right tool from one prompt rather than the user routing to a separate IDE. Cursor and http://claude.ai keeping separate flows means the consolidation bet runs against the distribution norm.

If you have a great new platform with a use case relevant to wide public - dedicate resources to promote it as a new product with a new value prop.

Don’t compromise your good enough products’ good enough brands for it.

@theinformation A Codex plus ChatGPT merge would make ChatGPT feel less like an answer box and more like an operating surface. That is the bigger shift.
