When I was a jr grad student, it was a huge honour to be asked to review. I spent a week reading every detail of a paper. Still in theory, you'll get senior faculty giving thoughtful reviews for STOC/FOCS. Sadly, ML requires holding people hostage until they do their reviews馃槩
Like I get why reciprocal/responsible reviewing initiatives exist, and generally support them. It's just sad the state of affairs that have gotten us to this point.
