Andrew Wilson Joins Perplexity AI as Research Lead
NYU professor will lead research on continual learning and RL at the AI company.
Andrew Gordon Wilson announced his move to Perplexity AI. Perplexity co-founder and CEO Aravind Srinivas confirmed the hire, stating Wilson will report to co-founder Denis Yarats and lead efforts on continual learning, synthetic data, long horizon RL environments and architectures. Denis Yarats posted that the company is building infrastructure for large-scale RL systems with a focus on multi-agent collaboration and continual learning, and plans to share a research agenda and open source much of the work. The company is recruiting. Wilson is keeping his NYU research group active.
