@jasoncrawford even if that’s somehow true (i am skeptical because Pangram is judging the output, not the process of writing), why should readers care? if an article is insightful, entertaining, and accurate, i am not convinced “AI ghostwritten” is a meaningful quality signal.
I sympathize with this view. But also… - How do you know if an article is accurate? If you are relying on the expertise or credentials of the author, then it matters who actually wrote it. - Related, if you are relying on how thoroughly-researched and carefully-written it seems to be as a proxy for accuracy, that signal is greatly diluted if the piece was AI-written. - If I haven't read a piece yet, or only skimmed it, and I am wondering whether to prioritize it, then who actually wrote it matters for that decision, because it informs how insightful/etc. I can *expect* the piece to be - If a piece is good, then I also want to add points to the reputation of the author, in my mind. I might be more likely to hire them as a consultant, ask for their input/feedback on something, invite them to speak on my podcast or at my conference… so again I want to know who actually wrote it. If AI wrote your piece then you might not make a great podcast guest
