Today is a very emotional day for me.
In 1981 I called every US governor to issue a proclamation for Space Day in their state.
I dreamed of a day we would have a company like $SPCX.m to move humanity over the highest mountain—gravity.
It was dark days for NASA, I saw the decay of the US Space program and I did all I could to make some dent in keeping it alive.
I was tenacious and did not take no for an answer. And I got Space Day recognized in each state and by the US Government. It took me a year of calling.
Today I got to own a piece of the company that will bring about the ideas and dreams that I held for a lifetime.
I have such gratitude to @elonmusk and the @SpaceX team.
I have to pinch myself this is happening.
Here is one proclamation I kept, they rest are are the Air and Space museum in Washington DC. It includes some letters I got from governors at the time.
Today in 1981 I presented @HaydenPlanet the proclamations I got 50 Governors to sign for Space Day! Here's one:
