Google has started rolling out Gemini 4 Argon, its new frontier model.
According to Google Cloud, Argon is now available in Gemini for business on the web, desktop and mobile. Developers can access it through the Gemini API under the model ID gemini-4-argon, Google AI Studio and the company's Antigravity development platform.
9to5Google reports that Gemini 4 Argon is also rolling out in the Gemini app for Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers. Ars Technica describes the Gemini app and Antigravity access as limited to paying users.
Built for longer, multi-step work
Google positions Argon as a model for complex tasks that must maintain context across multiple steps, including software projects, financial and legal analysis, and defensive cybersecurity work. The company says it trained the model to pause before irreversible actions, report incomplete work and produce answers grounded in supplied documents.
Google also points to internal and early-customer results, but those performance claims have not been independently tested. The company says teams using Argon in Antigravity increased agentic code submissions by more than 35 percent while reducing rollbacks by nearly a third.
Argon's standard cyber guardrails block offensive tasks such as exploitation and penetration testing. Google is separately offering an unrestricted version to a limited group of vetted government, critical-infrastructure and cybersecurity partners through its Fairwind Program.
Introductory pricing ends November 30
The Gemini API launch price is $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens through November 30, 2026. Cached input tokens receive a 95 percent discount during that period.
After November 30, Google says standard rates will rise to $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens. The temporary pricing gives developers several weeks to test Argon at half of its planned standard token rates.
