Microsoft has separated large-event features from newly purchased Teams Premium licenses, shifting advanced event entitlements toward Teams Enterprise and paid capacity add-ons.
Neowin reports that new Teams Premium licenses no longer include the event tools, while customers with older contracts keep their existing access until those terms expire. Microsoft's own Teams events licensing overview confirms that the change took effect April 1, 2026.
Enterprise licenses become the base for advanced events
Microsoft says event features that previously came with Teams Premium moved to Teams Enterprise. Enterprise organizers can host interactive events for up to 3,000 attendees or view-only events with Q&A for up to 10,000, depending on the experience and feature set.
Organizations that need more capacity can buy an Attendee Capacity Pack. Microsoft lists seven tiers ranging from 5,000 to 100,000 attendees. A pack is assigned to an organizer, who can hold multiple events while the license remains active, but only one pack can be assigned to that organizer at a time.
