Everyone's talking about AI-generated HTML.

But have you tried giving your sites a zero-config API for saving data, file storage, AI, websockets, etc?

We did this at Shopify. Runs on a single VM that costs $200/month, and it's changed the way we work.

We call it Quick 👇🧵

Upload files → you instantly get a URL at the subdomain of your choice that's only accessible within Shopify.

Since Quick launched in July 2025, we’ve collectively built more than 50,000 sites. Over 50% of employees have at least one Quick site.

When you remove the barriers to build & share, it’s incredible what happens.

The wildest part? All of Quick runs on a single VM with a single cloud database.

In a high-trust environment, all the complexity you'd normally engineer around simply disappears.

This thing only works because its internal.

We’re using Quick for everything from prototypes to dashboards, dev tools to presentations. Every team is using it.

Example: Designers are creating custom tools for their teams to use. Like Artifact, an internal tool for sharing work.

This is perfect for hosting static sites, but what if you need some backend functionality? Like saving a bit of data, or uploading a file.

Quick runs a shared server with an API callable straight from the browser.

Zero config. Zero API keys. Pure magic ✨

Quick exposes a websocket API that lets you easily add realtime collaboration features to your site.

Of course I just use it as a way to make sweet multiplayer games.

Our internal game jam led to more than 140 games submitted 🕹️

And then there’s just a ton of joyful, unserious experimentation. It’s amazing what giving just a few APIs can unlock.

Because it's just the web, sites can import code straight from another.

People started publishing shared JS libraries and, even making landing pages for them.

Need figma style comments? Analytics? Achievements? It's there.

Quick is growing into its own internal ecosystem.

@yakkomajuri No sql, firebase style. Treat it like a big persisted json store namespace per site

@royalicing That’s the benefit about it being internal only. People are using this at work and it’s not anonymous like the public web.

@pushmatrix How do you handle moderation of illegal or disturbing content?

@pushmatrix This is sick! An internal version of what I’m in the process of building with https://foleo.app

Currently opens all this stuff locally, but a cloud version + private / public share links are coming soon ;)

@pushmatrix we built this for everyone, it called cohesivity

try it out - 'use http://cohesivity.ai to build & host it'

works on cc/codex & everywhere else...
