@moultano So you’ve never been too California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico or Arizona I see.
@Matt_Dennie @moultano You see how you've got conifers sneaking in and blue sky above/behind, though? Even thick aspen groves are much sunnier than dense, mature eastern hardwood.

@moultano The abundant water makes everything feel so vivid and thriving in the east. Drive through NC heading to DC and the road is just surrounded by verdant green outgrowth everywhere.

@moultano The west is so insanely beautiful, but it strikes me as beauty on a grand scale. But having lived most of my life here on the humid mid Atlantic of the east coast, I also find a lot of beauty in the lush greens and abundant ecosystems. It’s does feel more vibrantly alive to me.

@moultano @DanielleFong When I was small I (in Australia) was watching a film set in the English countryside with my mother and suddenly she sighed, “oh that green, it doesn’t exist here, you can’t even see it on a screen, you have to. Be. There.” And, as I found later when I went there, she was right

@moultano Oh man, I was about to reply "walking through Cherokee Park [in Louisville] after it rains felt like exploring Naboo when I was a kid" - pleasantly surprised I wasn't too far off.
It took a week for my eyes to adjust to all the green when I moved back after years in Chicago.
@moultano As someone who moved from out west to Indiana this is one of the biggest things that makes me want to stay
