London had the slowest median mobile download speed among 18 European capitals in Q3 2026 tests

The Register reports that Ookla's Q3 2026 tests found London had the slowest median mobile download and upload speeds among European capitals and the highest latency under load. In central London, median weekday morning download speed fell to 80.07 Mbps, 27 percent below weekend levels at the same hours. About three-quarters of applications for new London street masts since 2019 were refused, the report says.
