Deeptune AI Joins Mercor To Build RL Platforms For Next-Gen AI Agents
Mercor says it is acquiring Deeptune as both companies pitch reinforcement-learning environments as a bottleneck for more capable AI agents.
Mercor CEO Brendan Foody said on X that Mercor is acquiring Deeptune AI, framing the deal as a way to expand the "apps, worlds, and tasks" used to train AI agents for laptop-style work. In the same post, Foody claimed Mercor is "the largest RL Environments company" and said Deeptune is a top vendor to frontier labs for the apps that make those environments work. A separate post from investor Alexis Ohanian praised Deeptune founder Tim Lupo and said his firm led the seed round.
