Peloton is expanding its treadmill lineup with three new models, led by the Tread Flex, a folding machine that starts at $2,195. Axios reports that all three are scheduled to arrive in the U.S. on October 1, giving the connected-fitness company a lower-priced entry in a category it has treated as secondary to its bikes and instructor-led classes.
The Tread Flex is Peloton’s first foldable treadmill and its first under $3,000. The company says the design is meant to take up less room when it is not in use, a practical change for buyers who want a treadmill without committing a permanent stretch of floor to it.
The rest of the refresh reaches further up the price ladder. The $3,495 Tread Vision adds a new cushioning system and a movement-tracking camera for post-run form feedback, while the $6,695 Tread+ Vision pairs a slat belt with camera-based insights and a resistance-training mode.
Positive accounts welcomed Peloton’s new $2,195 foldable Tread Flex for making home treadmills more affordable and practical, while negative replies called the price excessive and dismissed the added AI features as unnecessary.

Peloton is also extending its Peloton IQ software to runners. According to Axios, the system will use measures including cadence, vertical oscillation and stride length for coaching insights, and can adjust incline to recreate an outdoor route. Those are product features, not independent measures of better running form.
The launch comes as Peloton tries to widen its appeal while its membership base remains below its pandemic-era high. Axios says paid connected-fitness subscriptions fell 8.8% year over year to 2.55 million in the latest quarter. CEO Peter Stern told the outlet that the company sees running as a way to reach more price-conscious consumers, so the Tread Flex is as much a market-positioning play as a new piece of hardware.
