This person asked for someting, which I would have considered helping with, but then I saw it's all AI. That personal meeting down the drain, this is now a cold contact, or even colder to be honest

@GergelyOrosz Surprisingly, there are some people who think that AI can write texts better than them. It's not laziness, it's the opposite – a lack of confidence. When I write important emails as a non-native speaker, I pass them through the AI to proofread, so that may be the case.

@GergelyOrosz I have had the same thing happen twice recently - people requesting my time (one speaking engagement, one advisory position) with obviously-AI emails. When you get a lot of requests, "you couldn't be bothered to write the email yourself" is an easy "no" filter for me to apply.

If I ever want something important, I never sent anything templated or anything AI. Doing so is the equivalent of not giving a damn

@GergelyOrosz Blocking AI slop replies on sight is the right call. The irony is that most people using AI to write replies are trying to build relationships faster. But the shortcut kills the thing they are trying to build. Genuine replies take 30 seconds more and compound for months.
