@HarryStebbings Have Claude Code build a mini tool using ffmpeg to do this for you. Pretty much all video infra (Netflix, YouTube, linear video editors) run off ffmpeg. Very powerful. Or create an XML file (of those edits) that you can import into your linear editor of choice.

Use Descript Sequences: add video + audio files to a Sequence, sync tracks once, insert into your Composition. All script/timeline edits (good clips, cuts) then apply automatically to both video and audio.

For an existing audio composition: try Replace File on the source (keeps edits) or convert to video composition + Replace Media to swap in video tracks.

This eliminates the duplication. Better AI prompts work when everything’s in one project too. Harry can claim the $500 with this.

@HarryStebbings timestamps already live in the audio comp. Export descript's markers, a script maps them onto the video timeline 1:1, team just QCs the cuts. Weekend build, not a $500 bounty. Happy to point you at the api endpoint that exposes the ranges

@HarryStebbings If the audio composition has timestamps, you can ask Claude Code/Codex to use ffmpeg to do the same cuts in the video file.

If not, ask it to extract the audio with ffmpeg and generate a transcript with timestamps with e.g. whisper, then step 1.

You can keep the $500 :)

@HarryStebbings Descript has a feature called "Replace script track." It lets you take an edited file and swap the recording behind it with a different one and all your edits move over automatically. If this doesn't work, I will build somehting.
