Users criticized Anthropic for degrading AI performance in scientific research and for controlling biotech advances rather than sharing them with pharma, calling the moves annoying and a strategic self-own.
sorry how exactly did u guys think this was going to go? u thought Anthropic was going to build the infinity machine that can cure all diseases and prevent aging... and then let fucking Eli Lilly extract that and get the patent?
*the labs are going to do all of it*

@inductionheads eh they like playing it safe. across a lot of domains from the amount of compute they acquired, to restrictions to throttle capability dissemination ect but they do have a lot of momentum, buzz, and relative demand at this point of time. pros & cons of that just feel diff🍎🍊

@inductionheads The idea that the general public was ever going to have personal access to the Mandate of Heaven was always a fantasy, sadly

@inductionheads they are being annoying 🤮

@inductionheads overly careful?

@tenobrus Not sharing with Eli Lilly gives me flight of the Icarus vibes. Total strategic self-own imho.

@inductionheads Pure math too. 100% refusals.
