AO3 could be offline for up to four weeks after maintenance began on October 29

On October 29, TechCrunch reported that AO3's expected overnight maintenance had become a prolonged outage. AO3 estimated service restoration would take around two weeks, possibly up to four, but hoped to bring back limited service sooner. Engadget, citing a former AO3 volunteer who moderates r/AO3, reports the nonprofit behind the site said its data was intact. The cause remained unknown.
