AI must be decentralized in ownership and control

Many users strongly back Beff Jezos's push for decentralized AI ownership to enable open models, local privacy, and avoidance of single points of failure or regulatory capture.
No Digg Deeper questions have been answered for this story yet.
The solution has always been decentralized ownership of the means of production of intelligence
As of rn the most significant risk by far posed to human welfare by growth in AI capabilities is the consolidation of economic power in entities that are selected for political or ideological reasons
There’s no clearer path to a dangerous singleton than a closed govt program

What it all comes down to is what size of synchronous hardware is the optimal for hosting a model.
Is it a 20W cellphone? Is it a 500W laptop? Is it a 2kW desktop machine?
Is it a 150kW space satellite? Is it a 1MW Kyber rack?
Is it a 50MW data hall? Is it a 2GW hyper center?
Which scale of model wins out economically? This is what will determine the winners and losers and the topography of the future.

@beffjezos In that case you may like this piece on decentralized inference

@beffjezos For a plethora of reasons

@beffjezos Do you think this is actually possible? It seems that even at its current capabilities that many households are priced out of local models which surely do not compare to the full parameter models which exist outside of the public sphere.
I think local models are going to lag.

@beffjezos YAS!!!! Join us in moving AI inference and settlement on chain. @solana is the only credible neutral chain with the infrastructure and speed to handle the Token streams.

@beffjezos It is - just the vast majority flock to the big names. Pure laziness. Download Ollama, pick a model, make your system local, private and secure. Business or personal. Done.

That “rebel alliance” already has a coordination layer. Morpheus connects builders, models, compute providers, capital and users through an open agentic AI network where no company owns the stack. Decentralization needs infrastructure, not just a slogan. Study base:0x7431ada8a591c955a994a21710752ef9b882b8e3

@beffjezos decentralization makes sense here

@beffjezos Turns out they all steal from each other and us, decentralization is built in because, as we know, there is no honor among thieves

@beffjezos http://chutes.ai 🪂

@beffjezos does most of tech even know about Bittensor yet?

@beffjezos Regrouping. Both sides.

@Object_Zero_ @beffjezos Distribution/Access and Sovereignty part of optimal

@beffjezos That's why open models exist

I'm not talking about what I read here specifically in this message, but my line of thought to related subjects...
There are several big Ifs in the economy Macro Vectors... If we deploy lots of Robots for example... Either we become the web3 tokenization and inflation of coins reality; the countries (seen as entreprises) accept the fact that debt is always growing and rarely will stop growing, this would mean a need to rethink interest rates, and the concept of debt itself in this context..
Either we continue working and Idk man... I think it is a good time for me to start reading @DaveShapi and all the post-scarcity texts that are out there...
The real question is: what will humans do and what will be the new standardizations of economy in the future...

@beffjezos Already there. All the open models with config control. Ability to refine, optimize, fine tune, and ability build from scratch large and small. With mostly universal infrastructure (skills, etc.) and agentic framework. The basics are out there, everyone should get on the train.

@beffjezos The importance of open-weight models has just become exponentially clearer.
