Many users are enthusiastic about OpenWiki's rapid GitHub star growth and integrations like DeepSeek for practical repo use, while some caution that expanding beyond coding risks making it an unfocused general tool.

@hwchase17 Google Workspace and Microsoft Office 365 any surface where the majority of people live and get work done.
OpenWiki is at 1.7k stars in just 3 days!
Right now it's just for codebases, but we're working to expand it to everything for memory.
What do you want to see in a general purpose memory wiki agent?

@hwchase17 Love the team but idk why advertise more when it genuinely doesn’t work for most repos. No issues have been addressed.

@hwchase17 Obsedian

@hwchase17 Computer screen 🤣, I mean everything, wiki-recording

@hwchase17 Cool And if I’m building an OSS framework that uses the broader ecosystem, is there any way I could publish it under langchain-ai?

@BraceSproul How effective, asking out of serious curiosity, is this going to be on large scale monoliths ? Like for example a code base of dozen modules with 50k+ classes and thousands of properties...

@BraceSproul @hwchase17 I am about to implement it in 70+ repos on Monday watch out 🤣

@hwchase17 🚀 Just shipped PR #68 to openwiki — DeepSeek is now a first-class provider! Added V3 Chat + R1 Reasoner models with a smart fetch rewriter for their text-only API. 91 lines, zero breaking changes. Ready for review! 🙌 #DeepSeek #LangChain #OpenSource

@hwchase17 The "general purpose" ask is the trap. Every internal wiki tool dies when it becomes the place for everything. The coding constraint was a feature — it forced a tight retrieval contract. Add Slack and GDrive and you're building Confluence again.

@hwchase17 The sources people want and the ones you can safely serve aren't the same list. Notion, Gmail, GDrive, Slack are all permission-scoped per user. A single shared wiki index over them either leaks across a team or flattens to what everyone can already see.

@BraceSproul 先把个人笔记和项目上下文串起来就很实用了

@hwchase17 Slack + GDrive feels like the highest-signal pair for agent work: decisions live in threads, specs live in docs, and the gaps between them are where context gets lost.

@hwchase17 Slack 和 GDrive 应该会被催爆吧

@hwchase17 Business docs (share point), comm (teams/slack), and histories (meeting transcripts/recordings)

@hwchase17 I think Obsidian is everyone's favorite Markdown App right now, but I disagree since I wrote something better which is this:

@hwchase17 URLs, PDF, pptx, docs, png, assuming md support already exists 🤩

@BraceSproul GLM 5.2 listed as a default alongside Sonnet 5 says a lot. Open-weight models at near-frontier performance are practical choices for utility workloads like documentation generation.
