Windows 11 adds cloud reinstall option for PCs that can't boot into Windows

Cloud Rebuild is rolling out with the optional October 28, 2026, preview update for Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 26H2. If Windows fails to boot, users can launch it from the Windows Recovery Environment. The feature requires a working recovery environment, internet access and compatible drivers. A full reinstall removes local files, apps, accounts and settings from the system disk.
