Maybe if they let people do ML research with their tools there wouldn't be as much inequality.

Many users criticized Anthropic and its CEO for model restrictions and inequality warnings, viewing them as attempts at control, evil behavior, or a god complex rather than genuine concerns.

Nothing like gatekeeping your models from the unwashed masses to set the path for the hypergrowth of hyperinequality.

@elander777 @DarioAmodei Dario's got a god complex.

@tunguz @DarioAmodei didn't help matters by dropping that essay. Maybe it's too charitable to call it an underwhelming response.

@tunguz He’s not “warning” people, he’s announcing his roadmap. 👀

@beffjezos all their "warnings" are just thinly veiled threats

@tunguz This is the way. Their decision to cull the heard is the right one. These are not desperate people, most of them are just fakes and charlatans laundering the models and putting their names on AI generated papers. Good riddance, hopefully.

@tunguz Hyperinequality in income is nothing compared to the hyperinequality of the right to participate

@beffjezos They’re actively preferring the centralization of power and inequality risks over what they perceive as the greater risks of a decentralized intelligence explosion that can’t be paused.

@beffjezos Fable will sabotage your ML research, slowly, methodically, quietly.

There would be, but there would be more opportunity for people to pull themselves up.

But with that being said, governments need to start talking about what we are going to do when more and more of the workforce is being taken over by AI and robots.

There's some amount of retraining that is possible, but even with that the majority of jobs are going to be gone. Governments need to plan an off-ramp for people who are currently in the workforce.

Whether it be cutting down the hours of what is considered full time or a pathway to some type of UBI. I know people continue to say that this technological revolution will create more jobs, jobs that we can't even dream of, but I honestly don't think that's the case.

@beffjezos This is just sad.. these guys are evil.. I will wait for some else to come up with a fable level model; This behaviour shouldn't be encouraged with subscriptions.

@tunguz AI isn't doing that. The people are.

@tunguz @DarioAmodei I agree with you on that! He's about to find out what happens to gods when they screw over their followers.

@beffjezos But he knows better. Accept the decree. Kneel. Bow. Accept. That’s setup he’s building.

Thought we had AI data center problems before? Or deep state/tech alliance conspiracies before? Party just starting.

@beffjezos if they let people build with the tools id agree but theyre locking it down. its not about inequality its about control.
