Files and product images found in Apple's code point to updates for three devices that have gone years without major hardware refreshes: the iPad mini, HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K.
MacRumors' roundup ties the discoveries together and says all three products could be announced in October. Apple has not announced the devices, so the timing remains an expectation rather than a confirmed launch date.
The iPad mini moves its camera
The next iPad mini is identified with an A20 Pro chip, a landscape front-facing camera and a revised speaker system. Moving the camera to the long edge would bring the smaller tablet in line with Apple's other current iPads for landscape video calls.
The leaked images show only the front. MacRumors notes a small groove at the top of the display glass that appears intended for the speaker, while the volume and power buttons remain along the top edge. The images do not establish any changes to the back or side profile.
New HomePod colors, familiar shape
Files labeled for a HomePod mini 2 show the same spherical exterior as the original speaker. The pictured lineup includes green, pink, blue, white and black, replacing the current yellow, orange, blue, white and midnight selection. MacRumors says the new blue is lighter than the existing shade.
The original HomePod mini arrived in October 2020, making this the oldest design in the group. The newly found images do not reveal the speaker's internal hardware.
Apple TV leak is mostly about what is inside
The Apple TV evidence is an image file explicitly labeled “Apple TV 4K (4th generation)”. Its exterior matches the current box, suggesting that the visible design will stay put while any substantial changes happen internally.
The current Apple TV 4K dates to October 2022. MacRumors has separately reported possible upgrades such as a newer processor and additional memory, but those specifications are not confirmed by the new image file itself.
