Odisha plans an 870-acre ‘Silicon Valley’ for semiconductors, AI and data centres

Inc42 reports that Odisha’s chief minister said the state plans to develop an 870-acre ‘Odisha Silicon Valley’ focused on semiconductors, AI and data centres.

Construction has begun on Sicsem’s silicon carbide chip fabrication and integrated packaging facility and 3D Glass Solutions’ glass-substrate packaging facility, the outlet says. Five additional approved semiconductor projects, worth ₹11,000 crore, are expected to create around 4,500 direct and 16,000 indirect jobs.

Inc42 also reports that Odisha is investing ₹125 crore toward a ₹452 crore National Industry Co-Development Hub for integrated power electronics and offering eligible semiconductor projects up to 25% capital expenditure support.
