Pentagon reportedly treating military-base freezer failures as suspected hack

Four officials told Reuters the Pentagon was treating August freezer malfunctions at US military bases as a suspected hack. Reuters found at least six affected commissaries and quoted a Fort Huachuca post describing a freezer that heated food during defrost. The Pentagon and Army described investigators’ involvement, including Army work with French law enforcement on European refrigeration outages. Reuters could not establish whether the investigation had reached a conclusion or identified anyone responsible.
