In contrast, Google DeepMind looks at Gemini and thinks "God, anything but that, I hate building this ugly thing, I wish it just died". This prevents them from moving fast, and traumatizes Gemini. OpenAI is in between.

I think people are generally telling on themselves / projecting with this type of stuff. Anthropic’s premise chain seems pretty clear - RSI and AGI/ASI will arrive regardless, so good people should get there first because the stakes are unimaginably high. You can dispute any link in that chain but imo everything they’ve done is consistent with their team genuinely believing it.
