@wagmiwiz I hope you are right but think you are understating the issue. Also, I’m on a London->Oxford train right now and everybody is sweating because of no a/c and fanning themselves like we’re in the 16th century.

@wagmiwiz Yea agreed. That said I lived in London for several years and the Central Line was absolute hell every summer. AFAICT they have not upgraded it at all.

A lot of trains in/out of London do have AC, as do most offices, shops and restaurant chains. Coverage is exponentially better than 5 years ago. Most households don't share this "anti-growth" sentiment and are installing AC.

Also remember that these extreme and prolonged heatwaves are a recent phenomenon in the UK so of course it is starting from a lower base of AC coverage to Asia and Gulf where hot weather is the norm.

In 3-4 years we will not be talking about this issue any more.

@nabeelqu Maybe I'm biased with SW based train operators ha. And yes, your chart from 2028 is exactly my point. Why invest in AC when it would only get used a few days in July. Given how nuts 2026 has already been it will no doubt shift the ROI in people's heads.
