@BlackHC @etnshow @Doubleword_ There’s lots of safety risks - but they still exist if open models don’t win

The world I worry about is one or two entities / governments controlling this technology. And there’s no such thing as a good actor with that much power - absolute power corrupts absolutely etc

@MeryemArik9 @etnshow @Doubleword_ Are you not worried about safety risks? Or is the idea that we'll have strong(er) models in place to monitor the actions of people and AI agents?

@etnshow @MeryemArik9 @Doubleword_ This really comes down to control more than ideology. Who owns the runtime layer matters more than people realize

@etnshow @MeryemArik9 @Doubleword_ amen. Great to see others understanding that we need to own our own access and models. Too much power in a select few is always bad

But there are fewer safety risks if the strongest models are behind an API that can be more easily monitored than if everyone has access to the strongest models?

It seems less risky to have a few actors importantly not all in the same country with similarly strong models that can be made safe etc than if everyone has local access to strong models whose safety can be removed etc

@etnshow @Doubleword_ @MeryemArik9 Too much intelligence is being funneled through closed systems. That's not a stable foundation.
