Apple may bring iPhone Duo display tech to Pro models in 2029

MacRumors, citing UBI Research, says Apple's 2029 Pro iPhones could adopt thinner, more power-efficient OLED screens using Color Filter on Encapsulation (CoE). The technology removes the conventional polarizer and places a color filter directly on the panel's encapsulation layer. Polarizers help suppress reflections from ambient light, but also absorb a significant portion of the light the display produces.
