Martin Casado posted that boom times reward low-integrity opportunists because greed is easy to exploit, yet these people tend to get flushed out in downturns. He added that sustaining a long-term career without an ethical compass is much harder. Vijay Pande replied that so much gets cleaned up after a downturn and that he looks forward to building companies instead of dealing with speculation. Yeah so, boom times always reward low integrity opportunists because greed is easy to exploit. However, these folks tend to get flushed out in the down turn. It's hard to maintain a successful career over the long term without an ethical compass. Possible, but much harder.
can someone who is much older than me, has seen a lot of life etc etc please confirm that honesty and integrity do in fact produce positive outcomes in the long run? cuz I’m starting to get real cynical…….
