Agility unveils Digit 5, a humanoid robot designed to work closer to people
New sensors and a separate safety controller aim to reduce the need for physical barriers. Early access is planned for the first half of 2027.
Agility Robotics introduced Digit 5 on September 15. The company says the robot can detect people nearby and stop, avoid them or sit when needed. It advertises a the available reporting of up to 50 pounds, 90 minutes of battery runtime and nine-minute charging. Early access is expected in the first half of 2027, followed by general availability by year-end.
