Neowin, citing Windows enthusiast Xeno, reports that Windows 11 Insider build 29695 includes a developer toggle for Intel’s Advanced Performance Extensions (APX). APX doubles general-purpose registers from 16 to 32. Neowin says Intel estimates APX-compiled code can use 10% fewer loads and over 20% fewer stores, based on simulations. Neowin says it could be a while before the feature reaches the public.
