PsiQuantum unveils optical switch prototype for AI data centers

Semafor reports PsiQuantum is showing potential customers an optical circuit switch prototype that draws on its quantum-computing technology. PsiQuantum says the device could route GPU signals between racks without converting light into electrical signals. The company reports 1.2 decibels of insertion loss, below the two-to-three-decibel threshold it says AI data centers require. Tom's Hardware describes an 8x8 lab prototype, with larger devices planned.
