Users dismissed AI x Bio labs' extreme hardware demands and costs as infeasible and politically weaponized against institutions.
Even if we went the cheapest route and try to buy hardware ourselves, this would cost close to at least 800K - 1M one time cost that would need hardware refresh once every 4 years at least. Would be much higher if it were a cloud option. This is excluding back up, power etc

It is a political weapon to disable institutions in blue states that will be most affected by this. That's what this is. Just like every other f'in thing this dumbass, vile & utterly corrupt administration has proposed.
Then there's travel to meetings, publication costs which are F'in insane. (This is where the NIH can actually save money! But nothing has been done yet).
And I've not even included my own salary here. Just freaking do the math and consider whether it is seriously feasible to run a lab with even 10 personnel with 2 R01s. Hence, absolutely insane that this kind of nonsense is even being proposed.
