Theo Rants on Impracticality of High-Quality Local AI Models
A long X video argues that "running" a local model and getting top-tier results from one are very different things.
In a post on X, Theo shared a video arguing that high-quality local AI models are still far less practical than the hype suggests. His case, as described in the post and the conversation around it, is that there is a big gap between a model being technically runnable on local hardware and being fast, cheap or good enough to compete with cloud systems. A follow-up quote-post on X called the timing "convenient," while Robert Scoble's post on X framed the video as a direct hit on the idea that most people will run AI locally.
“That is the most accurate and valid crashout and Im happy that someone is talking about this. Thanks theo!”
