Uganda Hosts ICT Summit to Drive $500 Billion Economy Goal
Event brings together government, private sector and academia to explore technology's role in economic growth.

The Minister for ICT and National Guidance officially opened the Third Annual ICT National Summit 2026 on behalf of the President. The summit is organized by the ICT Association of Uganda in partnership with the Ministry and the National ICT Innovation Hub. Dr. Aminah Zawedde delivered the keynote address and stated that government cannot finance digital transformation alone. She called for private sector investment, innovation and expertise. The minister emphasized promoting local content and ICT's role in transforming Uganda into a $500 billion economy, noting that a country that cannot compute cannot compete.
