this chart seems intentionally misleading, because the cohort changes over time as orgs adopt ai. the low adoption ones today are likely behind in other ways too. fix the 2026 low adoption cohort and trace it backward and I'd bet the gap holds.

  honestly can't tell if it's pure incompetence, or incompetence while also trying to be misleading (showing no ai = reverse trend is such a clear tell that the chart is wrong)
