Apple adds Safari browsing approvals and violent-content detection for children
The new parental controls include Ask to Browse and expanded Communication Safety. They arrive with Apple’s latest operating system updates.
Apple’s September 14 update adds a way for parents to approve new Safari websites through Ask to Browse. Communication Safety expands beyond nudity to detect violent content and gore in supported images, videos and live FaceTime calls. Screen Time also gains a redesign and time-allowance guidance. The updated Screen Time experience requires Family Sharing devices to run the latest version 27 software. Availability varies by feature and region.
