TLDR

Alex Meiburg, assistant professor at UWaterloo, shared footage of a small AI model running on a ROG AZOTH keyboard that lights the next predicted key. In replies he stated the project is for fun and not meant to be useful. The slowed video lets viewers see the lighting effect. The model does not learn habits or memorize passwords. Other users noted similar past experiments with Markov chains and speculated about future tiny models on constrained hardware.

@BlackDan@Timeroot Cool, so it can give away your passwords….
@TimerootOkay most common questions: 1) This isn't supposed to be useful. It's just for fun/looking cool 2) I can touch type quite quickly, slow video is so you can see what's happening 3) It doesn't learn/memorize your habits, so won't memorize passwords! 4) It's a ROG AZOTH
@Moshe_H_It will be really interesting to see over the coming years what kinds of highly specialized "tiny LLMs" and other AIs end up running locally on constrained hardware.
@TMLutasWe haven’t even started seriously integrating AI.
@real_deep_ml@Timeroot Wanted to build this a few years back, happy someone built it!
@JayDook@Timeroot You’re supposed to look at the screen when you type.
@DerekSzyszkaI feel sorry for anyone who thinks this is the best keyboard ever made.
@matdegouvilleGrowing up is realizing this shit f up your wrist and forearm
