ISRO chief calls for a bigger industry role in India's space sector, The Economic Times reports

The Economic Times reports that ISRO chief V Narayanan wants greater industry involvement to expand India's space sector. In remarks the newspaper shared on September 7, 2026, he said there were “only 56 space assets serving from space” and that “at least 200 to 300 satellites” needed to be built and launched in “maybe 6 to 7 years.” Narayanan said that work “cannot be done only by ISRO.”
