Honestly I think doomers are too negative about the data center backlash. They wanted a mass movement against AI. Yes this one is kind of dumb but mass movements usually are! It still might move the ball in the right direction, from their perspective.

2 posts@binarybits From a doomer perspective, I think it was always a mistake to make it a mass movement. They will totally lose control of the message, and a bunch of anti-AI things will happen, but they will only barely and incidentally lower existential risk.
