HP’s $700 OmniBook 5 pairs an OLED screen with 8GB of RAM
Gizmodo says the starting price matches the MacBook Neo’s, but questions whether 8GB is enough for Windows 11.
TLDR
Gizmodo reports that HP’s OmniBook 5 starts at $700 with an OLED screen, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Based on tests of similar laptops, the writer argues that 8GB is not enough for a clean Windows 11 experience. HP also has a 16GB configuration and says a 12GB version will launch in November 2026, though Gizmodo was still seeking pricing and availability details for the higher-memory models.
