Apple prices are going up because of the AI boom.
Tim Cook says price increases are now "unavoidable" as Apple gets hit by surging memory and storage chip costs.
The reason: AI data centers are absorbing massive amounts of DRAM and high-bandwidth memory, tightening supply for consumer electronics.
According to TechInsights’ modeling for the WSJ, Apple would theoretically need to add around $270 to the next iPhone Pro if it wanted to preserve its nearly 50% gross margin.
