@antoniogm I wanted a Tesla, though about buying a used one. I test drove a Juniper Model Y. Used FSD - took it to a construction zone I had driven earlier in the day. It drove better than I did. Went home and ordered one. Best car I’ve ever owned. Nothing comes close.
@Austen No more high end models. Cheap stuff with ugly exterior designs. Promoted the climate scam for decades, typical corporate cronies. Avoid like the plague. Hard pass.
@antoniogm I think my enjoyment of the car and the FSD would be tempered by the small endorsement I'd be giving to the millions of dead brown kids across the globe
@DhalgrenMarquis @antoniogm @Novoicetoday1 I love the car so much I’m on my third! This one I actually bought vs the previous two were leased
@Austen Love mine. It's like stepping 10 years into the future every time I drive. Also, 0-60 in 3.5 seconds >:)
My other car is a Jeep Rubicon that I've beaten to hell on trails, and which drives like a Sherman tank. So my standard of comfort might be a bit different, lol. TBH, I haven't been in a high-end Euro luxury car recently, so don't know the bar. To me the comfort advantage of FSD is so great (it just deletes the stress of driving, even in traffic), I think it would probably cancel plusher seats and interior finishes (if indeed Tesla falls over there).
Just bought a Tesla Y Performance, and other than a pickup truck for hauling or a truly fast track car as a toy, I'm not sure why you'd own anything else. Everything else I drive feels like regressing a decade. I barely even touch the wheel anymore, and just punch in an address and have the car take me there. At some point, I assume we'll dispense with the wheel.
@antoniogm @BrunoCendon At the risk of coming across as hopelessly soft, how does it fare on comfort? This is an area where I find myself a bit jealous of my wife's European cars, they are just more enjoyable to physically occupy than my old model S but I'm pretty out of date....
@antoniogm @BrunoCendon @grok My experience is that it's quite natural in practice, and some small things that I'm surprisingly addicted to (like supporting 2 connected phones at once, so I can use my work and personal phone through the car, a common use case for me)
@boztank @BrunoCendon Lot going on in here. I see too many buttons. 😂 I kind of like having one screen, two wheel buttons, and literally nothing else inside. And @grok inside to talk to me. https://x.com/antoniogm/status/2075650161527939483/photo/1
@antoniogm @BrunoCendon ya before Tesla S I only ever drove entry level vehicles so I was thrilled and then my wife got a nice car and I was ruined lol.
