Reading through many, many comments on this post it struck me real hard just far down the into the muck so many Americans have gone. So low in their esteem for living vision of what we really are versus what the last 50 years has done to us.
My entire adult life's career got launched because I was a young farm and ranch kid that became glued to the TV watching every single episode of our space program - Mercury to Apollo - all of them. Finally, I told my parents that I was going to grow up and design and build our systems that would take us into space and live there. My Dad answered my question about how to do that and said become an architect. I never looked back and spent my life designing and building infrastructure for the coming age.
Here is the real point of that revelation. Most all of us kids had that kind of view of our future. I was just another in the pack.
Now I have to read so much demeaning drivel of the modern American spirit that their best view is to seek crumbs from the powers that be.
I am as thrilled, if not more so now, than even then for restoring that vision for Americans and humanity all.
