Bank of America hired 1,000 contractors to patch software flaws exposed by Anthropic’s Mythos
CNBC reports the contractors joined 3,000 internal staff patching flaws in the bank’s own and vendor software.
TLDR
CNBC reports that CEO Brian Moynihan said Bank of America brought on 1,000 contractors in the second quarter to help patch flaws exposed by advanced AI models, including Anthropic’s Mythos. They were still working alongside 3,000 internal staff in October. Moynihan said software remediation and anti-money-laundering regulatory issues together cost the bank “a couple hundred million plus” in the third quarter; he expects remediation costs to decline.
