ai is a tool that can synthesize all the data that it can be trained on, more than any human can accomodate , and provide answers to questions , based on patterns that would be impossible for any human to find in that training data Resulting in an output of information that can be used as the human using the system deems appropriate.

It also has the ability to combine what is effectively traditional search , with that output, improving the context to the user.

Its greatest value may be the fact that it doesn’t constrain access by user. Anyone can use it.

But it is still very limited by its inability to use video as an input.

As the the technology improves , in the future , AI will be able to move from training on text and pictures to using real time and on demand video as a training source that may allow it to become a more valuable tool for users.

Ai does not have judgement , doesn’t know the consequences of its output , isn’t creative , can often be wrong.

But it will always have the ability to work at a level of detail and volume that is impossible for humans and as a result will be an increasingly valuable tool

Yeah but the benefit you name is also the ginormous problem with the current picture of where money, resources, and time are being allocated.

It’s not about accommodating more, it’s about the reps. We as people leave room to absorb the lessons we learn in life into our memory rather than more useless information and patterns we don’t need. We also learn to recognize deception the AI can’t.

Through these reps the greats make better decisions whether it’s based on logic, emotion, or long term goals.

And as you stated at the end, AI is not capable of this. Especially over an extended timeframe.

And it never will be capable of this because all of the above requires humility.

So that means future of AI is less input. Less information. Less patterns. More repetition. More breaks. More rest.

Niche models hyper focused on 2-3 things. It seeks, retrieves, and synthesizes information on 2-3 things and gets better at short vs long winded output.

And the patterns it absorbs/synthesizes become repeatable, reliable to use, and consistent where it’s actually able to decompose a problem into incremental and reviewable tasks for the person controlling it.

The companies that realize this first will win. They will give the people who are currently learning with AI and removing the junk from the output a massive raise.

Then allocate the rest of the AI budget to build niche models to simplify that persons life so they don’t burn out.

They’d profit enormously without the short term burn and with good press.

Ironically it’s not much different than something like a hammer lol. It was just a stone when it started out to produce tools and process food.

It went on to be used in creating entire ecosystems and all they did over time was add a handle to it and cut it better.

@mcuban But AI has foundational shortcomings. Its search is driven by volume and noise. Favors the status quo over new science and innovation. And unlike a human, can't utilize, missing evidence analysis.

@mcuban It overrides my expertise with Boolean search language and select keywords.

Now, AI “remembers” my recent searches and assumes that’s my baseline interest. Every search I make should be considered unique. It gives a “summary” answer and I can’t find website links.

But agents can think and work for longer duration. As error rates continue to drop, Ai becomes very powerful.

Just ask the math and coding communities.

Equating modern AI to a regular Google search when it’s already far more accurate and capable than this dude claims is pure ignorance.
