MediaTek unveils its 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro smartphone chip
The flagship processor adds hardware for on-device AI agents. MediaTek expects the first phones using it to arrive this quarter.
Announced September 15, the Dimensity 9600 Pro combines a 2nm design with dual neural processors and MediaTek’s Agentic AI Engine. The company says it can run on-device models with up to 30 billion parameters and improves performance and power efficiency over the previous generation. Those are manufacturer claims; the first devices are expected later this quarter.
