Got my 10yr old introduced to Codex today.
The excitement in his face tells it all.
After struggling with Claude Code CLI for a bit, today he was like “this is the future, dad”.
The Codex team built a beautiful app.
I work with this stuff all day so I take for granted how far we have come.
But he was super mind-blown when he learned it was possible to let the agent play and fix all the glitches in the games he has been building.

Btw, this 3D capture the flag game he built is just on another level. Pretty interesting how kids think of these things and how they project their ideas with agents.

And then he found out that you can run parallel sessions. You can do that with CC, but it wasn't obvious to him.
So now he has his builds/tests running in parallel. Just crazy to watch all of it. At 10 years old, I was obsessed with NatGeo magazines and dreaming of a world where you could just create what you imagined. It's here now, and I get to gift that to my kid. I think we should all be taking time in the day to get our loved ones involved with the technology. You will be amazed by how excited they get and how it sparks curiosity.

@omarsar0 Another token addict :)
The most surprising thing so far is that he intuitively saw this as an opportunity to build stuff while he works on other activities (music, reading, hws, gaming, gardening, etc). Like, he doesn't want to miss out on building, but he is a kid, and I prefer that he balances things out right now. He will have time to get deep into this in time.

@TomasMann1878 I know right! :)

@omarsar0 a kid picking it up that fast says more about the UX than any review could

@omarsar0 Little man gonna be building the next Roblox!

@omarsar0 that spark is the best part of coding, love this.

@omarsar0 that is so awesome, he’s already ahead of the game

@omarsar0 Struggling with Claude Code CLI is the interesting bit. What changed for him: fewer setup steps, clearer recovery, or just a gentler failure surface?

@omarsar0 kid codexes at 10 and im still debugging my terminal like a cave man

@omarsar0 this kid is gonna be unstoppable by 16
(crying at my claude code terminal rn)

@omarsar0 wholesome but also kinda funny that he had to struggle thru claude cli first
outdated devops training arc
