Since AI is good at writing for loops, it must be good at everything else.

Yeah I don’t know if I break it down between left and right so much as this kind of lazy skepticism is an indication he’s not actually doing much intensive or domain specific knowledge work and/or he just fundamentally doesn’t understand how LLMs work and so has not learned how to use them well. His pinned tweet is strong evidence of the later at a minimum.

@davidmanheim Indeed. I don't work in tech but my team's productivity has gone up by magnitudes of order through embedding AI extensively. These guys don't see what is happening where work actually gets done.

@davidmanheim It is very tasteful cope. Many jobs outside of tech and high-end knowledge work literally are just bundles of tasks waiting to be automated. SOPs and checklists. Micro-managed and KPI tracked. See: offshoring, outsourcing for the playbook that is being re-run...
