Positive users agree with Grimes that more AI slop will make human experimental art more valuable, while negative users accuse her of justifying AI that harms real artists and attack her personally.

maybe she wasn’t the best messenger? 😭

@whotfisjovana New music next week!

@whotfisjovana @Grimezsz i’ve been saying this for years. AI art will ultimately make human art more valuable

@whotfisjovana @Grimezsz nah.
the masses don’t care. that’s why we buy our furniture from department stores rather than artisans and craftsmen

@whotfisjovana @Grimezsz Can you tell us what blush you are wearing @grimezsz Please

@lawfulevilgf @Grimezsz I’m sure we will all get very tired of it quickly and there will be a renaissance of music

@whotfisjovana @Grimezsz no it isn’t.
it’s literally market forces, an emergent consequence of a harsh world with scarce resources.

@whotfisjovana @Grimezsz This bitch built a whole career off slop.

@bya3k @Grimezsz that’s a choice though

@whotfisjovana @Grimezsz my wallet is forcing me to purchase furniture from a department store.
are you really not aware social class impacts how we interact with “art?”
what are you, rich or something?

@whotfisjovana @DollPariah Lady Gaga blush lol tbh her makeup is p good

@bya3k @Grimezsz the existence of dept. store furniture does not inherently make artisan furniture more expensive, artists price their work at their prices regardless
but the point is about creative substance in art rather than manufactured products like dept. store furniture. thrifting exists

@whotfisjovana @Grimezsz not true at all lmao

@DollPariah @Grimezsz wait i wanna know too pariah

of course department stores don’t make artisan furniture more expensive because artisan furniture was already expensive.
department stores made furniture cheaper, and the masses sacrificed “creative substance” for the cheaper (and more convenient) option.
the masses will digest AI art happily so long as it goes with their living room or gives a party good vibes.
the meaning making myth stops being relevant to the masses after they leave school.

@bya3k @Grimezsz to the point of the original post, it is the excess of cheap, manufactured, dept. store “slop” furniture that makes high-quality, hand-made artisan furniture that much more unique and appealing in contrast
that’s really the entire point of the post

@whotfisjovana @Grimezsz And let’s hear about the lip while we are at it

@whotfisjovana @Grimezsz slop creates room for more imagination

@theoooeooo @Grimezsz I just think that she’s trying to say there will come a point where everyone gets sick of the mass produced mainstream slop that’s being forced down upon everybody’s throats. people will realize that real art and musicians are what keep the world spinning, thus fueling creativity

@mars_efeito @Grimezsz Art is supposed to be human expression— not machine. art can be an expression of every single emotion if you let it. Art is beauty and rage
